The first time I sketched and painted birds, I didn’t enjoy the process very much. But, then that’s the point of having an art journal. I can work out the kinks, the frustrations, and get used to the subject all at the same time.
My friend and fellow teacher asked me to paint a pair of cardinals for her in memory of her grandparents. Her grandmother loved cardinals, and recently passed away. Every since, Mary Helen has been visited by the same cardinal lovebirds every day. Don’t you love that?
Thank you Mary Helen for asking me to paint these for you. I hope they help you preserve your memory of your loving grandparents!
